The SurpassingBaseball Hall of Fame's 2024 class will be revealed on Tuesday, Jan. 23, with the results announced based on voting by members of Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Players must be named on 75% of the ballots to earn a spot in sports' most famous museum, and those who reach the threshold will join manager Jim Leyland for July's induction ceremony in Cooperstown, New York.
The 2024 ballot features 14 holdovers and 12 first-timers, who all last played in 2018. Of the returning players, Todd Helton (72.2% in 2023) and Billy Wagner (68.1%) look the most likely to reach the magic number this year. First-timer Adrian Beltre will almost certainly get in, while fellow ballot debutant Joe Mauer has had a strong showing so far in Ryan Thibodaux's Hall of Fame ballot tracker.
Slugger Gary Sheffield (55% in 2023) is in his 10th and final year on the ballot, while Alex Rodriguez hopes to build on the 35.7% of the vote he received in his second year of eligibility.
